GIVING FAQs

Is online giving secure?

We’ve taken steps to ensure that the giving process is safe and secure from beginning to end. All of your giving data is secured by SSL encryption. SSL is an acronym for “Secure Socket Layer,” a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet. It is the same technology used by banks and e-commerce companies such as Amazon.com to keep your information safe and secure during transactions.  In addition, none of your payment information is stored in Planning Center, instead it is stored at Stripe – a PCI Level 1 Service Provider which is the most stringent level of certification available in the payment industry.

I clicked the “Give Now” button and nothing happens.

When you click “Give Now,” a new browser window is opened. If you’re using a pop-up blocker, the window won’t open. Most browsers will allow you to permit pop-ups from a specific website. In order to use the give online area, you will need to allow pop-ups from evangel.church.

Which account/fund do I choose?

When you give online, you’ll see accounts for each area of giving. For your tithes and offerings, choose Tithe and Offerings. For a gift towards Kingdom Builders, or one of the other ministries listed, select the appropriate fund from the menu.

Can I schedule recurring donations?

Yes, you can specify whether you want your contribution made once, weekly, every other week, twice per month or monthly. You can set up as many scheduled contributions as you would like to several different funds.

What if I change banks or want to adjust the date or amount of a contribution?

You can edit or delete or pause a scheduled contribution at anytime including the bank routing number, account number, date, fund, frequency and amount. These changes will need to be made under the email address user name that originally created the schedule.

I received an email stating that my contribution didn’t go through.

What do I do?

When transactions don’t go through, it is usually because of a typo. So try it again and double-check your routing and account numbers. Please do not include the check number in your account number and make sure all required fields are completed.

If I give online will I still receive a contribution statement?

Yes!  If you’ve given previously, you will receive a contribution statement.  For the year 2018, you will receive two giving statements – one for our old giving system (CCB/MyEvangel) and one for our new giving system (Planning Center).

If you have questions, please contact the Business Department to inform them.

Is Passwordless Login secure?

Most people are used to passwords, so why doesn’t Planning Center use them for Giving?  Take a look at this video to find out why!

Who do I talk to if I have more questions?

If you have any giving-related questions please email us and we will be happy to answer them.
